The Open Arts weekend was fabulous and I promise to gather together everyone’s photos and upload them this week. But in the meantime we have some great creative workshops and classes planned – printmaking, felt making and sewing. All details will be uploaded to the blog over the course of this week and first up is…
We have lots of ideas for gifts and treats for mums this year. There is jewellery by Adele Kime, Marie Canning and Georgie; high quality prints from Ingrid Karlsson-Kemp, Louise Janetta and Erika Robertson and lots of work from local artisans. And knitting kits. And workshops – why not treat mum to a day if arty, creative fun? And there’s still time to get your hands on one of these personalised prints by Alexandra Snowdon.
Ingrid Karlsson-Kemp is teaching a class for us at the end of March. Participants will work with textiles to create an art work inspired by a favourite song or piece of music. Moondance is inspired by the Van Morrison song of the same name and shows how scraps and trimmings can create a magical piece. Thank you Ingrid!
The class is called ‘Rhythm of the Stitch’ and full details are on our workshop page.
On Saturday we held our first workshop of the year. Hannah introduced particpants to felt making …and look what they created.
Hannah is running two more workshops over the coming weeks – Needle Felting on Wednesday 13th February, 7pm – 9pm(£20) and Intermediate Felt Making for those with some experience of Felt Making on Saturday 23rd February 10am – 2pm(£30).
Pop over to our Workshop page to see the incredible line up of workshops for the first three months of 2013. Workshops include ‘Introduction to Spinning’, ‘Beginners Felt Making’, ‘Dry Needle Felting’, jewellery and textiles with Adele Kime and a new theme from Ingrid Karlsson-Kemp, ‘Rhythm of the Stitch’.
So make 2013 the year you learn something new, not only do you get to work with and learn from our inspirational artist tutors but there is always lots of fun (& cake!).
